1. What is Devnet

A devnet refers to a local blockchain development environment and is used for rapid development of smart contracts. With a devnet, your smart contract application can interact with simulated blockchain entities (miners, nodes, and a stream of mined blocks), all within your local machine.

Because the development environment is simulated, devnets enable you to create different blockchain configurations to test our code and its requirements. For example, you can start a devnet at an arbitrary block height with a specified network upgrade at a later block, and with many simulated users, to see how your application responds.

Different wallets exist for different blockchains. On the Solana network, wallets are called SPL wallets, capable of handling SPL tokens, the native tokens on the Solana blockchain.

2. What wallet can I use in Devnet?
